Thanksgiving...

Well Thanksgiving has come and gone. You know its supposed to be a happy time of year, when you get together with friends and family, and it is for the most part. But what I don't get is this; You stay up most of the night making pies and cooking turkey. Then you have to clean up the huge mess you've made, just in time to grab a shower and make it to turkey dinner. And on top of that, everyone wants you to be happy while you are there. I don't know about you, but I have a really hard time being happy and nice when I am that tired.

No but really Thanksgiving is a great time of the year. I love that both sides of our family put forth so much effort to make it work and to show up. I have cousins that come from up north and back east every year to eat with us. So it makes it worth it to stay up all night baking to see them, even if its not for very long.

On Lance's side its always a blast. There are so many kids its fun. You always know that its going to be loud and most of the time, funny. Aunt Melanie makes it so much fun for the kids, its like Christmas comes early for our family. So for those of you that were there, Thanks for the fun. And for those of you that couldn't make it, we'll see ya next year, if we don't run into ya before that.

Next up....CHRISTMAS (my favorite)

At The Ranch...

So, it been a while since I have posted anything and I was looking through the thousands of pictures on my camera and found some we took the other day, and thought that I would post a few of them.

I'm sure that most of you all know that Lance's favorite place in the world its the Ranch. Well it is one of mine most of the time too. Anyway we spend quite a bit of time out there, especially in the summer. We had been out cutting a load of wood and Collin ask if we could stop and throw rocks into the pond. Which means he really wants to play in it. He loves the water. You could give the boy a bucket of water and he would entertain him self for hours. But anyway, we stopped. There is a big diving board there that Collin loves to walk out on and throw rocks off of. Well needless to say, rocks weren't the only thing that got threw in that day.

Of course Captain had to go for a swim. He's funny dog. At first he didn't know what to do. But after he got out he ran back down the diving board to Lance to do it again. We never could get him to jump in by himself.

It was a good day, we got a good load of wood, played in the water, and had some family time.

But on the way home we saw the most georgous sun set. So we stopped and took some pictures of it. We always have alot of fun at the ranch, and can't wait to do it again next time.

Collin's 5th B-Day

So the week of Collin's Birthday is a busy one. It falls on the week of the Kane County Fair every year. Which sucks for him, cause I am so busy that he has to spend all of his time following me around. Not too much fun!

Saturday, the last day of the Fair, they have a Pet Show. You have to be 12 years old or younger to show your pet. So we took Collin and Captain. They were so cute. Captain actually listened to Collin the whole time. Collin got him to sit, lay down, shake, and the best of all, play dead. They won a gold metal for the "Best Play Dead." Collin did a really great job.

The night before his birthday we went to the Fair Rodeo. He was so excited, he wanted to ride a sheep this year for REAL! So we went and signed him up. He was still excited when it was his turn, until we got up to the sheep. He thought that is was way to big. But he was a big boy and got on anyway. He did really good, until the sheep got up, then he kinda freaked and let go. He was tough though. He told us it only hurt him a little bit. He is such a fun kid, a little spoiled, but oh so fun. We had a lot of fun at the fair and at the rodeo. Its always so much fun.

Then Sunday night we went to Grandma Jeri's and Grandpa Brent's to see his cousins. Sunday was his actual birthday, so we took his presents over for him to unwrap. He was so excited to get his new scooter. He always plays on his Uncle Craig's when he is at Grandma's. Now he had his own. He had a lot of fun opening and playing with his new toys with Halle and Lauryn. It was a pretty fun day. We had cake and ice cream and then headed home. One our way home we stopped at Aunt Julie's. I just love her to death. She is so much fun just to talk to. She had all of her grand kids there. Brittney took Collin up and down in Angie's elevator until Uncle Kent put a stop to that. They weren't suppose to be playing on it to begin with. So the kids ran out side. They had alot of fun riding the little 4 wheeler, which Collin ended up on by himself. Very Scary for me. He loved it. When it got dark the kids came running back into the house. They had this huge frog. It took both of Brittney's hands to hold it. We told her that if she kissed it, the frog would turn into a prince. She was really disappointed when it didn't. Then the rest of them had to try it. Lacey kissed that thing so many times, I'm surprised it didn't turn in to a prince. It was really fun.

Then Monday we had Collin's Party. It was so cloudy and looked like it was going to rain, I didn't dare to have it out side like we had planned. So he set everything up inside. Well, we were right! It rained for while then quite. We had 4 friends over. They had alot of fun, they didn't want to play the party games, they wanted to play the way they wanted so we let them . My sister, Amanda and her baby boy Jake, came to help with everything. It was so much fun to have them there. The kids liked playing with the baby about as well as anything. Collin let his friends help him open his presents and then they ate ice cream. None of them wanted any cake. Funny kids!! Collin had a blast and wants it to be his birthday again next week. I think I need a year to recuperate from this one!!

A Little Bit To Catch Up...

So I've been going to start a blog for a while now and finally just sat down and did it. So here we go!!

Collin has been a bussy boy, like always. His Aunt Jae has decided that if I don't teach the child to ride horses, then by darn, some one is going too. So she has taken him with her to ride alot. He loves it!! All he wants to do is swim and ride with Aunt Jae. It's been really fun for him. He thinks my little sis, Cie Jae, is the bravest and strongest girl ever. It alwasys amazes him that she does boy stuff. Which I find funny, cause that is what me and my sister grew up on, boy stuff!!

Well, all of this got me to thinking. And its time to start riding more. I have went a few times but not enough. The first time I went with Collin he freaked out. He kept saying I was going to fall off and that only Aunt Jae should take him. Funny boy...

Lance started riding a year ago with my dad and my sister. He caught on really fast. He even started teamroping, and is great at it. It kinda blew my mind. I had been roping for years before I got as good as he is right now. Crazy!! Well him starting to rope and ride with my dad sparked my dad's want to build his own arena. That's all it took and those two boys were dreaming up the plans. Lance build the roping shoot on our front portch. He did a great job. Its a mazing what that man is capable of. He is so talented when it comes to building things. It awsome. But that is why I love him!!!
